Found some time to make the Swiss Top 100 Blogs list more dynamic. You can sort now by Technorati Rank, incoming blogs and incoming links (even though the list will be more or less the same) and there's a direct link to the Technorati page for each blog.

I also added a cronjob for automatically updating the list every morning. Currently there are 450 blogs in my database. If it gets over 500 (the data is automatically imported from blog.ch's OPML file), it will take 2 days for some blogs to be updated, as Technorati only allows 500 queries per day. But the script is smart enough to update first the blogs, which couldn't be queried the day before, so until we have a 1000 blogs it will take max. 2 days for each blog to be updated :)

Update: Cool, Niall Kennedy from Technorati doubled our API limit, so that the above "it takes 2 days" talking is no longer valid (at least for a longer time). Thanks a lot and I didn't even ask them, they came by themselves and wrote the good news into the comments.

Update II: They even mentioned my little project on their devblog.

Finde ich sehr eigenartig dass plötzlich ein Blog mit DE-Endung unter den Swiss Blogs auftaucht. Ich denke die Regeln müssen klar sein.

Nice would be, if someone could use a snipplet which shows the current position of its blog (according to top100 ch-blogs). maybe similar to the syndication...

Nice work and a great example to show how people al over the world can add information to their own communities of interest using Technorati. I doubled your API limit to 1000, let us know if you run into any problems.

Hi,

Can you share the PHP script that fetches the data.?

I have been trying to do a similar list using Java at my portal [http://www.myjavaserver.com/~hindi] but data can only be fetched for couple of blogs and then the process times out. I have about 100 blogs's list. I would be greatful if you could mail me the script.

Wenn man sich blogshop.de bei technorati mal genauer anschaut, kommt einem das schon merkwürdig vor. Massenweise "tote" Blogs mit einem Eintrag, derselben Blogroll und überall taucht der Olaf auf. Na ja. Wenn man es so auf Nummer 1 unter den top100 schafft, ist das kaum im Sinn der top100-Liste, oder?

Thank you for the job youv'e done. I'm happy about entering top 100 list. Anyway I'm working on content and not on ranking. I want to publish independent textual quality and not filched rubbish. I think it's importent for this new information tool to look upon this too in order to become a trustworthy source of information.

Grundsätzlich liefert leider Technorati über Ihr web-api nicht die gleichen (resp. einfach veraltete) Zahlen gegenüber dem was auf ihrer Webseite steht. Wenn du das ansprichst, so kann ich nix dagegen machen.
