Via “Back to Iraq 3.0” from TIME:

Important parts of the country, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Richard Myers said, are controlled by rebels. Principal cities and major roads west and north of the capital are ruled by Sunni insurgents. Al-SadrĂs men launch uprisings at will across the wide ShiĂite belt, and even parts of Baghdad are no-go zones for U.S. troops and

the frail forces of the interim Iraqi government.

I'm really wondering, if any of the US led military “invasions” since the WWII braught real liberty, democracy and freedom to any country?

Iraq? Vietnam? Cambodia? Somalia? Korea (half of it …)? Serbia (Maybe)? Afghanistan (to be decided)?

So please tell me of any succesful story of the actual use of US military power since 1945 (in the “liberty” sense mentioned above, not in the sense of military success, of course).
